Künstlerbeschreibung Luciana Jury:
Luciana Jury wurde 1974 in der Provinz der argentinischen Hauptstadt Buenos Aires geboren. Als Malerin, Komponistin, Gitarristin und vor allem Sängerin ist sie eine sensibel-ausdrucksstarke
Chronistin des Lebens der Vorstädte großer lateinamerikanischer Metropolen. Von ihrem Vater hat sie die Liebe zu den lateinamerikanischen Wurzeln geerbt und von ihrer Mutter und ihrem Onkel das
Wissen um den großen musikalischen Reichtum und zur Poesie. Sie wuchs auf in einer der typischen Vorstädte von Buenos Aires, dort wo die Einflüsse des Landes und der Stadt durchschnittlich waren.
Dort existiert ein urbanes Universum, in dem Tango, argentinischer Cumbia, Rock,
lateinamerikanische Volksmusik und die harten Realitäten des Lebens koexistieren. 2015 wurde sie als Kuratorin beauftragt ein Programm zu gestalten, das im öffentlichen Fernsehen Argentiniens zum
Internationalen Frauentag ausgestrahlt wurde. Im gleichen Jahr erhielt sie die Berufung in den Vorstand des Nationalen Komitees gegen Menschenhandel und für Gleichberechtigung.
Sie wurde von der KONEX Foundation als eine der fünf besten 'Sänger des Jahrzehnts' ausgezeichnet. In diesem Jahr
nimmt Luciana Jury das Solo-Album 'La Madrugada' auf, in dem sie mit ihren Liedern in die Stille und Kontemplation in die Welten und Lieder ihrer Jugend eintaucht, die sie neu arrangiert sowie
eigene Lieder jenseits der Folklore aufnimmt.

WORLDMUSIC CARNIVAL?
Der Worldmusic Carnival Mönchengladbach, organisiert von Kulturkram MG, feiert seinen dritten Geburtstag! Erneut gibt es
ein facettenreichen Festivalprogramm, das zum einen eine vielfältige Alternative zum klassischen, rheinischen Karneval bietet und zum anderen zur Kommunikation und dem Verständnis zwischen
verschiedenen Kulturen in Mönchengladbach beitragen soll.
Das Programm startet im November 2018 mit zwei Konzerten und wird fortgesetzt von Ende Januar bis Anfang März 2019. Mit dabei sind kleinere und größere Musikveranstaltungen, die die
Besucher*Innen in ferne Länder entführen, sowie Workshops, in denen alle Neugierigen selbst mit Musik experimentieren können. Taucht ein in fremde Kulturen, berauschende Melodien und exotische
Klänge.

Artist description "Luciana Jury":
Luciana Jury was born in 1974 in the province of the Argentine capital Buenos Aires. As a painter, composer, guitarist and above all singer, she is a sensitive-expressive chronicler of the life
of the suburbs of major Latin American metropolises. From her father she has inherited the love for the Latin American roots and from her mother and her uncle the knowledge of the great musical
wealth and poetry. She grew up in one of the typical suburbs of Buenos Aires, where the influences of the country and the city were average. There exists an urban universe in which tango,
argentine cumbia, rock, Latin American folk music and the harsh realities of life co-exist. In 2015, she was commissioned as a curator to design a program that was broadcast on public television
in Argentina on International Women's Day. In the same year she received the appointment to the board of National committees against human trafficking and equal rights. She was honored by the
KONEX Foundation as one of the top five singers of the decade. This year, Luciana Jury records the solo album 'La Madrugada', immersing her songs in the silence and contemplation of the worlds
and songs of her youth, rearranging them, as well as her own songs beyond folklore receives..

This year the Worldmusic Carnival, organized by “Kulturkram e.V.”, is celebrating its third anniversary!
Again there will be a multifaceted festival program, which in one way will offer a divers and alternative program to the classical, Rhineland carnival and in the other way should contribute to
the communication an understanding between different cultures in Mönchengladbach.
The program starts in November 2018 with two concerts and will be continued from the end of January to the beginning of March 2019.
Bigger as well as smaller music events, which are going to take our guests to faraway countries, will be a part of the festival. Also there will be a workshop program for all our curious
participants where you can experiment with music.
Dive into different parts of the world, intoxicating melodies and exotic sounds.
